When I Was Little-workshop for pre-school and primary grades

Children lose early memories by age 8 unless there is a caring adult in their lives who weaves these memories into story. “When I Was Little” is a little book workshop for children pre-K-2 consisting of three 40 minute sessions. The first session consists of reading a mentoring text, discussion of memories, and passing out homework forms with leading questions for parents (Instructions: interview parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, anyone who knew you when you were little. Ask them to tell you stories about what you liked, what you did, said, your favorite foods, toys, books, etc.) Second session: discuss interviews, add drawings and words if able, color to highlight significant element in art. Third session: Design book cover. Attach pages in order with book ring (s). Finishing touches. Set up books for publishing party.
